Introducing a very special limited edition polish collaboration with LACMA, with two flora-inspired shades sampled from the 1671 still life "Flowers in a Glass Vase" by Dirck de Bray. The Dutch artist’s work — part of the museum’s permanent collection — is included in the 2023-24 exhibition "The World Made Wondrous," and is considered one
of de Bray’s masterpieces.
Our exclusive shades include: Morning Glory (a painterly azure) & Hollyhock (a blushy, sun-ripe apricot) De Bray’s painting depicts a casually assembled bouquet of blooms, quietly evoking a sensuous, loose naturalism through its grouping of “ordinary” flowers, all commonly found in late summer in the Netherlands.
Coincidentally, two of these varietals — the Morning Glory & Hollyhock — are also native to select parts of California. We can’t imagine a more apropos nod to celebrating the specificity and era-transcending power of color.
